About the position

Örebro Municipality has many different operations that affect your everyday life in several ways, from elderly care and schools to technology and services. As a statistician, you will belong to our statistics and analysis function, where we work together to make the municipality's operations more fact-driven and thus even better. We support our operations by processing and analyzing data from their systems or collected in other ways. This creates conditions for goal formulation, follow-up, and decision-making based on facts. You will also present materials in an educational way to effectively communicate the message.

We are currently developing our working methods and working more in teams directed towards different administrations or subject areas. In this role, you will be involved in developing our operations and contribute your own ideas and thoughts to make us even better!

Examples of tasks:

  • provide support in systematically analyzing materials and presenting them in an educational and target group-adapted manner
  • support municipal management and operational administrations with environmental analyses
  • provide methodological support in data collection, processing, and visualization of statistics
  • make statistics for monitoring internal goals and processes easily accessible to the municipality's various operations
  • drive and participate in development work within statistics and data access issues
  • actively participate in the development of the municipality's statistics and analysis function

About the workplace

The Development and Sustainability Department's mission is to support the operational administrations and municipal management in living up to the municipality's strategies and goals for sustainable operational and community development. Our department consists of two units. In your role as a statistician, you will be part of our statistics and analysis function, which belongs to the analysis and project office unit. The function currently consists of seven employees.

We have annual working hours, which means you have the opportunity to partially control your own working hours. There is also the possibility of remote work based on the needs of the operations. We are located in newly renovated premises at Åbylunden 1.

Qualifications

In our ongoing change work, we are looking for someone who is willing to take their own initiatives and contribute creative ideas. You find it easy to understand complex issues, analyze and break down problems to then find solutions. Since we work in teams, it is important that you listen, communicate, and collaborate well with others. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively and ensure that deadlines are met. Furthermore, you have good digital skills and master Swedish in speech and writing.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • academic degree, at least 180 credits, with a focus on statistics in combination with economics or another social science orientation that the employer assesses as equivalent
  • work experience in statistical production and/or statistical analysis work

Meritorious:

  • experience interpreting statistics and presenting it orally and in writing in an educational manner
  • experience working with statistics for monitoring internal goals and processes
  • competence in BI and BI tools, such as Power BI
  • experience working in SQL, R
  • experience working in the public sector
